menswear clothing collage

It’s that time of year again. The period in which we stow away our winter downs and break out our warm-weather looks. And while you are unpacking your gear, you may discover that you are in need of a wardrobe refresher. Never fear! The gallant guys at Wingtip Jungle anticipated this might happen and rounded up some essential pieces you will need for spring — and the best part is it, they won’t break the bank.

Check out our boutique below for some serious staples (all under $100) that will have you looking as fresh as the newly sprung flowers.

If you couldn’t tell, we’re not letting go of our deep navy obsession anytime soon. Take your classic double breasted blazer and give it a fresh spin for Spring by pairing with dark denim shirts, blue based ties, and a sharp chino. This look is perfect from the conference room in the office to the curbside bar afterwork.

Spring is finally here and we could not be one bit happier. As the weather warms up, we’re making sure to layer for sudden chills and sticking to our color palette of the season..rich tones of navy, maroon, and neutrals. We suggest keeping things mostly monochromatic with pops of rich jewel tones like teal and maroon.

This Week’s Best Dressed: Nick Jonas Motos...

best-dressed-nick-jonas-moto-jacketIf you know the fellas at Wingtip Jungle at all, you will know that we love a good statement piece — whether that be jewelry, a sweatshirt or, yes, even a dramatic mane change. This week, it seems that some of our leading gentlemen finally heard our plea and decided to up their style game with some unique jackets. From bomber to blazer and a two-tone moto, these guys know how to select pieces that give them a head start in the race for first.

While we await the dramatic return of ‘Game of Thrones’ this weekend, we couldn’t help but notice that the shows leading man, Kit Harington, sports a bold bomber as he leaves JFK Airport. As with most statement pieces, he keeps the rest of his outfit simple with black faded jeans and brown shoes so as not to detract away from the main attraction. Emphasis is key.

It’s always refreshing when the fellas on the red carpet take a fashion risk and pull away from traditional black and navy suits. So it’s no surprise that upon seeing Andrew Rannells’ tartan blazer, we instantly applaud his success. He sticks to a traditional (yet always current) preppy look with a button-down layered under a sweater and slacks but adds the jacket for a modern twist.

Though the other two fashionable fellas put up a good fight in their eye-catching pieces, we have to acknowledge our favorite statement jacket of the week — Nick Jonas’ two-toned moto. Not only does he accent the jacket with a monochromatic outfit, but we love the mixed-media material and can’t wait to get our hands on one as well. (Mr. Jonas better tighten the security around his closet.)

Do you think Nick’s moto was the best statement maker of the week? Or do you think another celebrity was peacocking better? Sound off in the comments below!

How to Pick the Best Sunnies for Your Face

sunglasses-banner

Have you noticed that big yellow sphere in the sky recently that’s been giving off warm and toasty vibes?  That’s apparently the sun — or so we’ve been told. After months of hibernation, the burning ball of gas has decided to peek through the gloomy winter months and finally shine some light on us, inspiring days of lounging poolside and sippin’ on some gin and juice. But before we start dipping our toes into the water, we should consider protecting our style watchers (aka our eyes) with some elaborate eyewear.

Being the fashionable fellas that we are, we know that it is important to not just find a good-looking pair of sunglasses, but to also make sure that you buy the correct frames for your face. For example, if you have a square shaped head, stay away from the boxier designs and stick to curvier and rounder edges.

We browsed around and found some helpful tips on which styles will look best on your mug — and don’t worry, we went a step further and picked a couple pairs out for you as well. Check out the diagrams below to figure out where you land on the face spectrum so you can find the perfect sunnies for summer.

We couldn’t think of a more festive way to welcome to warmer weather than breaking out of our drab, winter toned suits. This Spring, take to the streets in a colored suit…our favorite directions being: 1) rich jewel tones like burgundy, deep teal, rich purples 2) go light with baby blues, periwinkles, light chino, steel grey.

Don’t be afraid to switch out your cap toes for a fresh court shoe (sans visible socks, of course)

This Week’s Best Dressed: Adam Levy is the...

Best Dressed of the Week

We have to admit — last week we were a bit disappointed at the lack of competition for best dressed and were starting to worry about our leading lads on the red carpet. However, as spring slowly edged it’s way in, it seems to have breathed new life into the style game of our favorite actors. Some impressed us with statement-making street style while others strutted the red carpet with a sleek sneaker.

Starting off our fashionable fellas of the week is Matt Bomer…in a bomber. (Sorry — we couldn’t resist.) The ‘White Collar’ star is spotted out and about around Manhattan in a casually chic outfit that gives us spring vibes for days. His sage green statement jacket is complimented by a light denim button down, slim fit khaki chinos, grey suede chukkas and finished with a pair of red leather gloves and printed scarf. Though he is still lightly bundled, the color scheme says, “warm weather to come.”

It’s official: No tie, is the new tie. Nicholas Hoult attends the ‘Dark Places’ premiere in Paris sporting the “no knot, don’t care” look in a slim-fit blue Tom Ford suit. We’re a big fan of the style because it reads, “I’m here for business, but I also like to have fun.” Say goodbye to the neck noose, because as the warm weather temps continue to rise, we only foresee an increase in this trend.

Our love for the Brits and their strong sense of fashion holds strong in this week’s winner Adam Levy. The ‘A.D. The Bible Continues’ actor makes an appearance at the show’s New York premiere in our favorite suit and sneaks combo. The look feels smart with the tailored blue suit but has a fresh twist by opting for a well-fitting tee and grey sneakers instead of the generic button-down and dress shoes. This foreigner has only been our radar for a short time now, but keep your eyes on this one, because we can only hope to see more great ensembles.

Do you think Adam deserved the title of ‘best dressed’ this week? Or should we ship him back to the Queen herself? Sound off in the comments section below!

Summer body protein, Brah!

9c7bafede21cf0abe2d7c82b4dd57f8dThe panic is setting in. The last snowfall has come and gone. It’s about that time of year again when everyone suddenly realizes the warmth of spring & summer is upon us… aka we are no longer able to hide under our perfectly tailored pea coats and Kanye-inspired parkas. Some of us are realizing that as we pack away the puffer coats, the puffiness we’ve been experiencing is not solely due to the quality of the down in our coats.

We’ve been getting back in the gym like crazy, hitting our Soul Cycle classes regularly, and putting all of our faith in our best friend, protein ( and have been noticing a crazy difference) While calories, whole grains, and fats will always remain important nutrition buzzwords, it’s ALL about protein these days. As more and more consumers are realizing the need for increased protein in their diets, the retailers, food companies, and nutritional brands are answering the call, from Kellogs cereal to Quest Bars.  Screen Shot 2015-04-01 at 1.27.57 PM

While there are always “trends” in the food industry, protein has elbowed it’s way to the front of the room and is looking for its time to shine. While younger consumers are increasing protein to lean out, maintain energy and feel fuller for longer, we’re sure you’ve also heard your parents talking about how they found “this great Greek yogurt and it’s PACKED with protein!” as they are looking to increase protein intake for health reasons. Over this horribly long winter we’ve been experimenting with various protein packed products to help sculpt our Summer bodies and have rounded out the group to a select few. As much as we want this heinously long Winter to pack itself up and peace out, we have to be honest; we could NOT be happier that it’s still chilly enough to give our Spring sweaters some loving. Perfect Spring weather in New York usually lasts for about 2.9 seconds in between  snow-squall and summer scorcher. Take advantage of these unseasonably chilly temps and stock up on a few epic Spring sweaters (and take advantage of the fact that MOST of them will be on sale as these retails have to make room for shorts, tees and tanks.)
