Black & Brown: A Winning Color Combo For Fa...

Black & Brown worn by Preston Konrad

Black and brown has always been a winning Fall color combo for us, however it’s one of those style rules that few guys feel okay breaking. Well we say go ahead…break it! Pulling off a killer black and brown combination is all about attention to details and finding the perfect tones and shades. We love a rich tan suede bomber paired back to your favorite pair of black skinny jeans (notice the raw edge on the cuff above…feel free to slice your jeans and leave the frays showing…it’s cool with loafers). Ground the look with a neutral sweater like charcoal grey or rich shades of black. For this look, your watch is going to be a standout. Preston has partnered with Movado this Fall to showcase the new Edge and we just love the matte black finish when worn with brown. The rich tones and intricate details of this bad boy instantly grab attention when worn with suedes and textures. With the watch having this incredible yet subtle detailing, it’s an outfit maker even when the jacket is taken off and is perfect for the boardroom straight into Sunday brunch.

Labor Day has come and gone and although we’re not putting away our white jeans anytime soon (that rule is BS if you didn’t read our last post btw…) we are starting to tuck our shorts further back into the closet. With our favorite fall denim being a bit too heavy to wear everyday, we’re opting to lighter options like thin trop wool suiting pants or elevated joggers like these by Club Monaco (which are marked down from $130 to $70-something bucks!). They literally feel like Nike sweats yet have the look of a polished, pintuck suiting pant. Pair them back to a crisp denim button down and cool sneaker for an elevated and perfect transition to Fall look.

White Jeans: Yes, You Can Wear Them After Labor ...

The ‘no white after Labor Day’ rule has been around for god knows how long. We’ve got some good news for you…it’s bullshit. White jeans are now a wardrobe staple. Think about grounding them in dark hues like rich brown accessories, dark woven shirts (THE ONE ABOVE IS ONLY $13 BUCKS FROM H&M…LINK BELOW), and chunky knit sweaters. Yes – there are certain whites to retire after labor day such as white linen but otherwise, consider this your stamp of approval to rock white this fall. We’ll be bringing you updated ways to wear white throughout the season, so stay tuned.

Ripped Sweatshirts: The Trend You Can Thank Kany...

Love him or loathe him, Kanye West is transforming streetwear…whether you realize it or not. With the arrival of his wildly popular YEEZY collections came the boom of the athletic sneaker, the jogger & oversized /longline tops. This year, we’re seeing the YEEZY season 3 color palette dominate some of our favorite stores. Light pink, olive greens, burnt reds, rust, and shades of mustard have made their ways onto the racks of almost every brand…from Forever21 toMr. Porter. Key details from this color palette are distressing, ripping & tearing.

We have to admit, along with the oversized shape of these cozy staples, we’re feeling the rips n’ tears…who knows, maybe it’s our inner wanna-be bad ass. We’ve rounded a few of the best ripped sweatshirts on the market ranging from and most of them land under the $50 mark so everyone can get their YEEZY on (or at least look like it).

The knit polo shirt is getting through this tricky time for getting dresses. It’s too hot to jump into the Fall trends just yet, however it just feels wrong to keep pushing the floral shirts and seersucker shorts. Our solution is to stick with classic items in darker colors (think maroon, navy, charcoal, olive, etc). One item thats had a major comeback this year is the knit polo. This 1960’s staple is back with a vengeance and is going to keep you sweat-free for the remainder of Summer and layer perfectly under your fall jackets come September/October. Keep your eye out for a knit polo constructed with a silk blend…this subtle touch of silk will keep things comfortable while looking a bit more polished when paired back to a suit pant or slim dress trouser.
