Kickin’ It for a Cause

We love a good pair of trainers. If you are feeling the trainer trend as much as we are, keep reading…. we’ve found your new go-to sneaks for fall.In collaboration with Adidas Consortium, New York designer Ronnie Fieg has created a custom sneaker to commemorate the heroes of 9/11. The shoe is named, appropriately, ‘EQT Support ’93 – NYC’s Bravest.’

“I, as many, experienced 9/11 first hand, and was enamored by the people of New York who united to rebuild our city,” Fieg said on his company’s blog. “This project is dedicated to them.”

Fieg started with a classic Adidas silhouette and built his design from there.
“It’s a little sturdier and heavier than your typical tech-runner, and the outsole features pods which give it an all-terrain appearance,” he added. “I sourced an exquisite gold leather for the toe to represent the NYPD badge.”

The design also incorporates other elements of the NYPD uniform including the blue color. Woven material on the sides and tongue signify the protective armor worn by officers in the field.

Corresponding with the launch, Fieg’s brand, KITH, is donating $15,000 to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum Foundation to honor victims of the attacks.

“I believe if someone has the capacity to give back to their community, then it is not only their right, but it is their obligation,” said Fieg. “With this release I am focused on my community, New York City, and the heroes that embody it.”

The Ronnie Fieg x Adidas Consortium ‘EQT Support ’93 – NYC’s Bravest’ is priced at $170 USD and launches at select Adidas locations today. You can also shop the style at KITH Shops in New York and
