Best Dressed of the Week

We have to admit — last week we were a bit disappointed at the lack of competition for best dressed and were starting to worry about our leading lads on the red carpet. However, as spring slowly edged it’s way in, it seems to have breathed new life into the style game of our favorite actors. Some impressed us with statement-making street style while others strutted the red carpet with a sleek sneaker.

Starting off our fashionable fellas of the week is Matt Bomer…in a bomber. (Sorry — we couldn’t resist.) The ‘White Collar’ star is spotted out and about around Manhattan in a casually chic outfit that gives us spring vibes for days. His sage green statement jacket is complimented by a light denim button down, slim fit khaki chinos, grey suede chukkas and finished with a pair of red leather gloves and printed scarf. Though he is still lightly bundled, the color scheme says, “warm weather to come.”

It’s official: No tie, is the new tie. Nicholas Hoult attends the ‘Dark Places’ premiere in Paris sporting the “no knot, don’t care” look in a slim-fit blue Tom Ford suit. We’re a big fan of the style because it reads, “I’m here for business, but I also like to have fun.” Say goodbye to the neck noose, because as the warm weather temps continue to rise, we only foresee an increase in this trend.

Our love for the Brits and their strong sense of fashion holds strong in this week’s winner Adam Levy. The ‘A.D. The Bible Continues’ actor makes an appearance at the show’s New York premiere in our favorite suit and sneaks combo. The look feels smart with the tailored blue suit but has a fresh twist by opting for a well-fitting tee and grey sneakers instead of the generic button-down and dress shoes. This foreigner has only been our radar for a short time now, but keep your eyes on this one, because we can only hope to see more great ensembles.

Do you think Adam deserved the title of ‘best dressed’ this week? Or should we ship him back to the Queen herself? Sound off in the comments section below!

This Week’s Best Dressed: Bradley Cooper R...

Disclaimer: We did not arrange the best dressed list on the rule “age before beauty” — it just happened to fall that way. This week while sifting through the numerous premiers, red carpets and after parties, we not only spotted some newcomers to the style scene, but also some oldies (but goodies). While school is still in session for some, others have learned the lessons and received their degree in dressing.

Just because Dean-Charles Chapman hasn’t been walking the red carpet as long as some of our other dapperly dressed dudes, doesn’t mean that he isn’t bringing some serious competition to the table. The ‘Game of Thrones’ actor shows up to the show’s season 5 premiere in a tailored blue suit with coordinating tie and pocket square. There are a couple nitpicky things we would change, but overall A for effort.

If there’s anything Preston loves more than life, it’s a statement jacket — more specifically a leather moto jacket. Jeremy Irvine brought his good looks and great taste to the BBC Films 25th anniversary reception with an elevated casual ensemble that is both appropriate and comfortable. Had he not added the coat we would have sent this outfit packing, but thankfully, Jeremy knows the way to our hearts.

The guy going home with the gold this week is none other than the Mr. Bradley Cooper. Though he recently called it quits with his bae Suki Waterhouse, we can officially report that the breakup has not affected his sense of style. The ‘American Sniper’ star shows up to the premiere of his newest movie, ‘Serena,’ giving off some casual chic Italian vibes sporting a tailored wool suit, sweater and button down. You don’t have to be European to nail it right on the head.

Do you think Bradley Cooper looks “molto bello” or should we take him back to grammar school and let someone else shine in the spotlight? Let us know in the comments below!

This Week’s Best Dressed: Justin Baldoni a...

All three of our dapper dudes this week have one think in common: They’re all Prince Charming — well, to some degree. Whether he’s the knight in shining armor to a young girl with cancer, an old teenage crush or an actual monarch pursuing a young girl who thinks glass is acceptable footwear, these gentlemen prove that they have what it takes to royally own the red carpet. But who will take home the crown? Keep reading to find out.

When someone says denim-on-denim, we can’t help but think back to that frightening AMA’s appearance when Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears hit the red carpet in 2001 (if you don’t know what we’re talking about, click here). However, looking at Ansel Elgort in this custom Prada creation at the ‘Insurgent’ premiere in New York, we have decided that the young star has rectified our fear of seeing denim in front of the step and repeat. Elgort sticks to the blue hues for a look that that is subdued, yet sharp.

If you’ve ever wondered what sort of style Prince Charming would have in real life, you dream can finally come true with our number two celebrity Richard Madden. With all the primping and precision of royalty, the ‘Cinderella’ star selects a blue suit that is well tailored to his body, but adds a bit of boyish rebellion by skipping the tie and leaving his shirt unbuttoned.

Since yesterday was the first day of spring (although it certainly didn’t feel like it), we were excited to see that the layering on the red carpet had moved from heavy winters to warm-weather fabrics via Justin Baldon. Instead of opting for the standard suit and tie, Baldoni selects a neutral pant and vest paired with a gingham button-down — an easy way to keep cool and still look sharp.

Do you think Justin deserved the crown or is it off with his head? Sound off in the comments below!

This Week’s Best Dressed: Nick Jonas’...

If it wasn’t for the first look in our weekly top choices, you could rename our list the, “Brit Awards Roundup.” While two of our fashionable fellas walk the red carpet, the third catches our eyes with his low-key street style chicness. While donning mixed-media layers and bedazzled boutonnieres, these three celebs stand tall against the rest and earned a spot in our best-dressed picks of the week.

Though we sometimes have a hard time relating with Justin Bieber, we know when to give credit when credit is due. We love the singer’s look for three reasons: 1. We were all about statement sweatshirts this week and the singer is an excellent example of what we were talking about. 2. All black. Everything.  3. He knows how to layer. Biebs places a cotton zipper sweatshirt over a similar leather piece (double the trouble) and then finished off the look with a pair of Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski sneaks.

Second on our list is British actor Jeremy Irvine. In the past, we’ve proven that the Brits know how to dress, and this dapper dude is no exception. Instead of opting for a standard suit on the red carpet, the star mixes-and-matches casual and dress with ease selecting a gingham shirt with black skinny jeans and elevates the look with a tie, tailored blazer and patent-leather boots.

Coming in at number one is Nick Jonas (and we promise, we do not have a Jo Bro obsession…even though they’re featured here and here). The singer shows up to the Brit awards wearing a DSquared2 suit — which isn’t surprising considering he and Joe have a long standing relationship with the Caten brothers. What really grabs our attention is the embellished brooch on his suit jacket. It is a major fashion risk on his part, but totally pays off in the end and lands him in our top spot.

Do you think Nick Jonas deserved to be number one with his daring accessory? Or do you think he should say goodbye to the gaudy gadget? Let us know in the comments below!

This Week’s Best Dressed: Ryan Reynolds an...

We know what you’re thinking  but no  these three dapper dudes didn’t win just because they’re in the ‘Gorgeous Wives’ Club (although it didn’t hurt them either). Ranging from street-level to red-carpet, these looks demonstrate how to keep your style game on point. And  for the first time  we have a tie for first place between one celebrity who is dressed to the nines and another who demonstrates a chic casual.

Falling into our third place spot is John Legend (left) reminding us of our love for all-black ensembles. The singer lets his statement-piece jacket do the talking while toning down the rest of his look with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. We are definitely pinning this one to our airport style inspiration board.

The first contender for the number one title is Eddie Redmayne (center) in this navy Ralph Lauren suit at the Oscars Luncheon. This is the second week in a row that the Brit has made it onto our best-dressed list, which he does with his ability to chose well-fitting suits for his body. (Now if only we could get the name of his stylist.)

Our feud for first continues with new dad Ryan Reynolds (right). Though the star is also on the main drag while making an appearance at the Sirius XM Studios, he shows off his apt for dressing up even the most casual look. He elevates his chinos and cardigan with a sharp, tailored overcoat that brings his ensemble to the next level.

Do you agree with our tie? Or do you think one of the guys was a step above the rest? Let us know in the comments below!

This Week’s Best Dressed: Dan Stevens Shed...

This week we were feeling pretty blue — but we don’t mean the feeling. Of all the dapperly dressed celebrities, all three of our top dogs had incorporated some hue of the color in their ensemble. From red carpet ready to easy-going streetwear, these three guys had their style game on fleek.

On any other man, we would say this outfit is so-so, but in our book, legendary soccer star David Beckham can do no wrong. He mixes-and-matches his tones well and accessorizes with a subtle brown belt and wingtips. (And don’t worry David, we don’t think you look fat at all.)

Taking our number two spot is Eddie Redmayne. The ‘Theory of Everything’ star shows off his English heritage with a slim-fitting tweed suit and bold blue tie with matching pocket square. It is hard not to notice this style star on the rise and we can’t wait to see what he will wear to the upcoming award shows.

The not-so-heavy-weight champion of this week’s best dressed is Dan Stevens. He sheds his ‘Downton Abbey’ dinner jackets and arrived at the House of SpeakEasy Runnin’ Wild Gala in a tailored plaid suit. We love this look because he isn’t afraid to pair his eveningwear with a less-formal chambray shirt.

Do you think Dan took home the trophy with his formal-gone-rogue ensemble? Or do you think someone else deserved the spotlight? Let us know in the comments below.

This Week’s Best Dressed: Nick Jonas Doubl...

Whenever we’re looking for some outfit inspiration, sometimes the best place to look is at the celebrities — and why not?! The stars have high-fashion designers and stylist at their fingertips to help them decide what to wear at every event they attend. While combing through this week’s pics, there were three main men who caught our eyes with their ‘exceeds expectations’ ensembles.

In third place we have Mr. Zac Efron. While on the set of his latest film, ‘Dirty Grandpa,’ the actor was spotted in a stripped button-down, blue fleece vest, chinos and chukka boots. We probably won’t be heading out to the green anytime soon, but we would definitely wear this while out-and-about in Soho over the weekend.

Coming in at a close second is Luke Evans at the Valentino Hommes Menswear show during Paris Fashion Week. For the event, the actor chose a maroon two-button Valentino (obviously) suit from the brand’s fall 2015 collection. The slim cut suit fits Evans perfectly and is accessorized with black shoes and tie (which we are guessing is also Valentino).

Though the young singer may have a style advantage this week — his picture is from his most recent feature in GQ — the guys at WTJ are in agreement that Nick Jonas took home the gold in this Giorgio Armani double-breasted suit. The elevated style of his two-piece and casual fashion of the white button-down underneath are the right combination off classic and cool to have you going from the board room to happy-hour.  (Although we’re still trying to figure out the fascination with grabbing his crotch.)

Do you agree with our picks of the week? Were there any other celebrities that you think deserve some credit? Sound off in the comments below!
