Puffer Vests: Keep It Simple & Stylish

Puffer Vests: The Key To Clean & Functional Layering

Layering for Fall doesn’t have to be overly complicated, enter the puffer vest. My rule for Fall layering is to keep things clean, simple & functional. With temperatures jumping all over the place lately, I always suggest to layer functionally, making it easy to shed a layer or two without sacrificing your Autumn look. I’ve partnered with Old Navy to show you guys how I’m styling some of their newest Fall pieces. Start off by opting for a classic crewneck sweatshirt and killer pair of olive jeans. Not only will these pieces stand on their own when un-layered but they serve as a perfect canvas to start adding pieces. Throw on a classic denim jacket for a look that’s perfectly rugged yet pulled together. To top it off, I’ve added this puffer vest (which happens to be the perfect shade of maroon) with a great slim fit which will keep you from looking like the Michelin man when layered.

Buffalo Check You Can Wear Right Now

Buffalo Check: The Heritage Pattern That Is A Must-Have

With morning and evening temperatures sitting pretty in the low 60’s lately, it’s time to start thinking about how to kick off a Fall look while being temperature friendly. This kick-ass buffalo plaid fleece jacket from TopMan is perfect for a brisk walk to and from work while the temps are still crisp. (Super easy and fluffy to throw in your bag and rock a monochromatic look for your lunch break when the temps are too hot). I have a feeling this piece is probably going to sell out quickly so grab it now and wear all the way through Winter with a rugged boot and beanie.

Leather Jackets: Splurge Vs. Steal

When Fall rolls around, I instantly start to pull out the leather (and faux leather) jackets in my closet. A proper fitting leather jacket will prove to be one of the most versatile pieces in your wardrobe from these early Fall days, until the beginning of Spring. A great leather jacket used to a lot of saving or whipping out the credit card, but with the countless fast fashion brands stepping up the trend game, a killer leather jacket (not real leather obviously) can be yours for under $100. I’ve rounded up some of the best ones for under $100 (The one I am wearing above is this one from Forever21Men) as well as some splurge worthy jackets if you’re looking for real leather or to make an investment. The rest of this outfit is below, btw! x – Preston

Leather Weather has arrived and it doesn’t mean you have to spend a million bucks to get the perfect moto look. Every year the vegan leather (or engineered leather) options get better and better while staying easy on the wallet. We tend to keep our money right where we can see it, in our shoe closet. For this look, Preston opted to spend on the Saint Laurent Heidi boot and pair it back to a faux leather jacket and great neutral sweatshirt. (We wont lie though, we have a few quality leather jackets in the closet but they don’t all have to come with a high price tag).

mens summer haircuts on preston konradThe arrival of steamy August days always gets us a bit jammed up. The temps are hotter than they have been all Summer, yet in the fashion world (and in most of the stores), Fall is already here. We’re not jumping the gun and opting for anything too heavy, but it is time to slowly start thinking about retiring certain pieces of the wardrobe until next Summer. The palm print shirt is one of those pieces. We would say you have a good two weeks left to crank out the playful palm print looks and then it’s time to swap them out for micro prints and cooler tones (while staying weather appropriate). If you’re going to give your palms and florals a few more runs, opt for a distressed jean and classic skate slip-on to keep the look more West coast and less Robin Williams circa ‘The Birdcage’.

(As it’s really time to start winding down the wacky prints, this shirt has gone on sale and is no longer available…similar and final remaining affordable ones below!)

It’s polo shirt weather, boys. Now that we’re in the clear with the rain and chilly temps here in Manhattan, we’re amping up our Spring shopping, snagging the staples first. We love these new ‘white croc’ Lacoste slim polos from Nordstrom. To make your spring polo shirt look less preppy, we say opt for a dark pair of slim jeans and a throwback sneaker for an updated retro look. (If you couldn’t tell, we’re digging the slight amount of stretch in just about everything we’re buying this Spring…these polos have juuuust the right amount).

Since we have committed to giving our festive fair isles and plaids a rest for a bit, we’ve decided to keep things monochromatic with winter white. The key piece for this look: a kick-ass cream jean (not bright white). Pair it back to a chunky cream knit and use hits of brown to keep the look strong and masculine. Boom.

The 2016 hustle is on and we’re facing with some of our favorite Haberdashery pieces. Give the holiday sweaters and plaids a rest for a hot second and opt for festive suiting separates. We’ve been feeling the mix of waistcoats, slim blazers, and dark denim. If you can battle the cold sans socks, we say go for it. Happy 2016, guys…let’s do this.

This October is proving to be one for the books when it comes to great blazer weather. We’re finally getting the perfect 60-ish degree temps to break out the best…the herringbone, tweed, wool, etc. One staple that is often forgotten amidst the flurry of fall blazer options is the windowpane blazer. We keep things simple and classic by pairing this bad boy back to a great pair of slim selvedge jeans & a suede double monk strap shoe. For the shirt and tie combo, keep the shirt clean and have a little fun with the tie (like Preston did above with the striped option).

Double Breasted Blazers Are Fall Perfection

One of our must have pieces for Fall is a classic double breasted blazer. We opt to keep the look young and cool by pairing with a slim pair of rigid jeans (but don’t go too tight with the denim) and a classic tasseled loafer. For a chic, Italian inspired look we say keep things tonal by staying in the blue family. Try to mix prints and patterns like gingham and polka dots to take this look from banker to boss.
